This is a great new walk that leads up to a magnificent view of the expansive reach of the Cotter Catchment. A moderate 800m walk up a well-defined track through light bush takes in delightful birds and plants. During spring, the purple of the hardenbergia and yellow wattle create such lovely contrast. Eagles and falcons soar overhead, and the bush is deliciously peaceful. Glorious sunsets can be enjoyed from the lookout – particularly in the summer. (Bring a torch for the walk back.)

To get to the Cotter Catchment Lookout Walk, head along the Cotter Rd, turn right onto Brindabella Rd, follow for about 2km and you will see a small carpark on your left. The walk also extends to the top of Mt McDonald.
